The first records of european mariners sailing into 'Australian' waters occurs around 1606. The first ship to chart the Aust coast and meet with Aboriginal ppl was the DUYFKEN captained by the Dutchman, William Jenszoon. Between 1606+1770 an estimated 54 ships from the Dutch East Indies company. This included the ships of ABEL TASMAN who is a really important DUDE! LOL! Tasman charted parts of the north, west and south coasts of Aussie which was then known as New Holland Broo! Some ppl say that the Portuguese (mmm... NANDOS!) were here first. In 1770 the Englishman? charted the ozzie east coast (broo!) under instructions (SECRET) from King George III? claimed the east coast for England. He named eastern Aus NewSW! The French were very close to Aus at this time--->
Captain A.P and the F.F comprising 11 ships & around 1350 ppl arrived at B.Bay! B.Bay on the 26th Jan! AUSTRALIA DAY! He carried instructionswith him to build the F.C in Aus!
